watermelon Loving Chickens!

Mine love watermelon too. They get all happy, and start making noises as soon as they see it. lol

 

[the simple life]

It is definitely recommended to give them watermelon in the hot weather to help keep them hydrated. Having said that, mine won't touch the stuff! We had a heat wave last week and I went through alot of watermelon in my house, I would bring out big slices or a half of a scooped out melon and they would run away. Crazy chickens!
Others on this board also recommended that I fill up some empty soda or water bottles and freeze them and put them in the coop to keep them cool. They wanted nothing to do with them either.
