Waterproof

Hi everyone, I'm due to get my 1st lot of chickens at the weekend. I have an 8ft long coop and run can anyone tell me the best way I can make it waterproof. The only sheltered part is the house. Do chickens mind being out in the rain all day? Any ideas welcome.

I have one chain link run that has half of it covered with galvanized roofing (plastic works too)
The rest of the runs are uncovered but I find the covered one produces cleaner eggs when it's raining.

The only part of my run that is covered is the section under the coop. The chickens don't seem to mind the rain. If so, they can always get underneath the coop or go inside.
