Waterproofing

So we have our ark all set up now (with the house elevated and attached to the run) but wondering the best way to waterproof the run so the woodchip doesnt get wet but they can still sunbathe - any advice would be much appreciated!

Replace the wood chips in the run with sand and waterproofing is not needed.
