Watership down....Anyone ever read it? what did you think?

Watership Down is actually my second favorite book ever.

Such a wonderful book! I love the movie as well (and The Plague Dogs movie is also amazing). I adore the mythology of the rabbits.

ChooksChick, Tailchaser's Song is very good, too! I love serious/somewhat dark talking animal books, they're my favorite. (And yes, I'm an adult.

Fifth (I think, maybe 6th) Grade English Requirement in W'ford then 9th Grade HONORS English Requirement in Arlington.

And of course there's a copy on the shelf here as well. Great book.

In the same category as Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Animal Farm IMO for kids being able to read it but adults being the ones to catch all the meaning.

I love Watership Down. I wanted to name our new bunnies Fiver, Hazel, Hyzenthlay and Vilthuril. Got shot down by the kids. So now the bunnies are Moonlight, Snowball, Rosebud and Dogwood.

I second the recommendation of Plague Dogs. I liked Shardik, too.
