Hatching
I had just gotten done handling the chick and put him/her back in the brooder. The chick (a Barnevelder we have tentatively named Annie) fluffed feathers and then squatted to poo and it came out almost all clear with a hint of the normal colors in the center. At the end of it was a string of what seemed to be blood (very small) attached to the chick's body. She/he walked away and I used the towel in the crate to wipe the spot. It looked a little orange-ish but not sure if that is from the red brooder light. The brooder is kept very clean with complete changing of bedding every day. Any suggestions or thoughts? The chicks are fed a medicated feed and I did not see anything bloody on the towel I had just removed from the brooder.
