I just picked up five silkie chicks this morning, 2 weeks old. They went straight into the brooder.

It looks like their stool is solid but watery (if that makes sense). The puppy pad absorbed a lot of liquid around the stool. Also it looks like I see some specks of red/orange in it. I can’t tell if it’s blood or not.

I don’t know what feed they have had, but I am feeding All Flock.

Could this be coccidiosis?
Should I start Corid?
Should I switch them to medicated chick crumble?

I’ve never dealt with coccidiosis before and never used corid, but I have it on hand for emergencies.

Can you post photos of the poop?

How do they act?

An all flock crumble that is 18-20% protein should be fine to feed.

Possible what you see is a little intestinal shedding, but without seeing it...

IF you do feel that you are dealing with Coccidiosis, the Corid will not hurt them.
Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.
Do not add any extra vitamins/electrolytes that contain B1(Thiamine) to food or water during the course of treatment.
