I have a 5-month-old buff orpington (well, that's what the hatchery called her. She sure doesn't look like one, but anyway...) who, since she was a 3 day old chick, has always had watery, smelly stool and sneezes up gobs of mucus. She eats well, has grown well, is boisterous and active, and has recently become the dominant hen in the group. I've tried Corid and Duramycin, and neither had any effect. I'm not too worried about her anymore, since she's been doing this all her life and seems otherwise completely healthy, but it would be nice to know what's causing it. Can chickens have allergies? Any other ideas?

What is the weather like where you are? I do believe this is normal especially if its very warm in your area! And if shes acting fine there should be nothing to worry about! Good Luck!

Thanks! I live in north Georgia, so it's been humid and hot with lots of rain. My other three (Australorp, Speckled Sussex, and Easter Egger) haven't had any such problems.
There aren't any nutritional deficiencies that would present this way, are there? The Sussex is the only one laying (as far as I know, since they are all egg eaters I have no idea who is laying except for the one I've seen lay right in front of me), and she's laying very soft, leathery eggs in spite of free access to oyster shell.
