Good Afternoon, we have some 8 week old chicks and I have 3 year old hens. One of the 3 hens has tan watery stool and has had this since we got her about 6 months ago.

The chicks I’ve raised 2 of the 5 have the same stool. They’re still separate from the hens.

Question is I know what normal poop looks like. How should I go about solving this issue? Energy levels and health is great. Just notice the nasty poop is consistent. If it was cocci they’d be dead by now. Also no blood in the stool.

As far as I can tell they can live just fine, but I’d like to do what I can to remedy this.

Thanks!

What temp has it been? They might just have heat stress and are drinking extra water causing vent gleet. And it is absolutly nothing to worry about it should pass with the heat. Or of ypur one older hen is broody it coulf be a poop that is produced by broody hens due to the fact that they are not eatong and drinking as much as usual. However broody poop has foul odor which will help you distinguish between the two if she is broody. Hope this helps!

Temps are hot lately, but the this has been happening before it got hot.

Here you go!

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like cecal poop to me which is a sign that ypur chickens digestive tract is working well. This is normal and happens every 8-10 poops. Maybe someone else can contribute an opinion.

Thanks! That’s a relief, found one with 2 bumble feet. It’s a never ending first aid game with these birds.
