I am a new owner of some 6 month old (or so) hens. They are all very healthy and laying. It seems one of them is laying eggs with a yolk that is watery (when I break open eggs over easy). It is mostly a great looking yellow yolk, but on my plate there is maybe 1/4 the moisture that is clear. I was wondering if this is common and wondering the reason. I can't find anything on this online. Thanks! It hasn't been hot (above 95) in several weeks here near St. Louis, MO

Hi Mike,

welcome to the forum....

At first I read watery whites -- so I put in these links

http://www.mypetchicken.com/backyar...he-whites-of-my-chickens-eggs-watery-H86.aspx
http://www.thepoultrysite.com/publications/1/egg-quality-handbook/30/watery-whites

Then I checked watery whites

Some of the views say heat, and some say nutrition. Hope these will help you solve the problem. IF not be sure to post back and identify what you're sure that it ISN"T to help identify what it is. HTH
