Open Contest Wattle I Do Without You?

Entry 1
Karen, oh Karen. 3.5 yr old hatchery EE. Full of character, sass and charm. Karen is first in line for treats and first on the roost at night. She’s first in my heart, too.
My favorite thing about Karen is how she sprints to me when I call to her when she’s out foraging in the woods. View attachment 4282286
Karen is a beautiful hen! Did you have to train her to come, or did she just do it on her own?
Meet Luna Lovegood 💜 my 3 year old lavender orpington. Luna is my gardening companion and exterminator for my shed 🤣. She never met a bug she didn't eat and she knows when I carry the gardening tools it's snack time out in the yard with mom. Her gentle disposition makes her a lovely helper!

She seems happy out in the snow :). Such a pretty picture!

Kenneth, an almost 6 month old spalding peacock, has been showing off since he was 4 days old. He’s a mama’s boy and will follow me around. Since he has gotten so big, he’s no longer allowed to perch on my shoulder.View attachment 4282983
He is very handsome! Will he get any bigger?

Alex, my ringneck, is now my only dove and is very dear to me. It took him months to get better from his illness and is still with me to this day.

Very nice picture :). Did you ever find out what was the matter with him?

My favorite girl, one of my original flock still going strong on her third winter, Fiona:

She’s an Olive Egger from Meyer Hatchery. Her first summer she got a bad case of bumblefoot. I soaked, cleaned, flushed and wrapped that foot for 3 months. She dealt with it all like a champ.

No problems since, but I still enjoy her calm personality and the way she chortles to herself when I toss them some treats.

It’s my doing. The first few times she came trotting and found herself first in line for a juicy horsefly. She learned quickly, like a week, what was waiting when I called out. She also jumps straight up about 3-4 ft to snatch a bug from me. I used to have a video of that on my old phone.
