I'm curious if Cochins get wattles early on regardless of sex?

Black cochin. Pretty sure this is a cockerel. Huge legs/feet. Wattles since 4 weeks. Pink comb ect. 5 weeks old.

Red frizzle cochin. I thought pullet....now I'm unsure. Wattles started showing this week. 5 weeks old.

Both are cockerels. Cochin pullets are VERY slow to mature. You should not see color in comb or wattles of pullets even at 12-14 weeks.

Cockerels on the other hand are quick to show their gender.

I keep hoping it's a pullet...with a large comb and sassy attitude LOL. I was looking forward to little baby chicks next spring.

The frizzle chest bumps everyone all day constantly picking and fighting. I won't be surprised if it's a male..but I really hope a pullet. This will be 3 males and 1 female out of this batch..yikes.

The comb has really taken off in the last week....

I was hoping since the black one showed so early I was in the clear for the frizzle.
