hello I bought some safeguard for goats I have had chickens for about 3 years and have never NEEDED to worm them and by that I mean I've never seen any worms in dropping or had any health issues up until about 6ish months ago when I bought some adult birds and in my ignorance I didn't practice bio hazard safety (lesson learned) since this spring my birds have started losing feathers (perhaps a small molt?) and have had respiratory issues which I've never had before I don't think the new birds brought respiratory disease as it was 3 or more months after I got them that the sneezing started. when the feathers started falling I initially treated for mites although I never saw any they just seemed to be itchy acting and losing feathers so I treated just in case. they are still losing feathers and some are still sneezing though I treated with tylan 50 as recommended. My next step is going to be to worm them I have 3 "sets" of birds my full grown flock has 7 chickens my intermediate pen has 9 chickens and 3 ducks and my third grow out coop has 11 chickens and that's a lot of birds to worm individually is there a better (i.e. easier) way to worm them all? I would like to use the safe guard as it seems to be the most recommended but I may also get the horse paste as well because I believe I read they treat different kinds so its best to use both? sorry for the novel can anyone clear up my questions?
