Ways to make a hen go broody?

Is there some trick of the feed or light to get a hen to go broody at a specific time?

Nope. You cant make a hen go broody if she doesn't have those tendencies in the first place and even if she does, it's a hormonal switch that just clicks on, not something you can control. Hens go broody in winter, too, it seems. If a hen is really prone to broodiness, you may send her over the edge by leaving fake eggs in a nest, but I wouldn't count on it.
