This! Yep, my grandmother, aunt, and mother all pronounced “t” as “ch”. Crystal was always “chryschal”, and Christie was “Chrischie”.Also, pronouncing "t" as "ch," so Youtube becomes Youchoob. I think that's called yod-coalescence.

So funny! Our umbrella cockatoo does s-backing when she speaks. “Yesh” “sherious issue” “Gimme kish kish kish”.My latest pet peeve is s-backing. That's pronouncing an "s" sound as "sh." Example: understand becomes undershtand, street becomes shtreet. When you start listening for it, you hear it everywhere.
