I had 2 EE hatch and I dont want to get them mixed up with the couple EE a week older in the brooder...I wanna know who is who nas they grow. The all look exactly the same except the older ones have a little more feathers. How do you guys mark them? Leg bands, the punch thing, food coloring (lol), what works for you all?

I have some leg bands. Some people use zip ties on their legs...just make sure they're loose and you cut them off if they start to get tight! I've also heard of people using nail polish on their toenails.

eggcartons.com has the 1/4 legbands,, and if you click their ad that comes up on the index page, it helps BYC

Oh yeah.....I forgot to ask what sizes......I am sure a quail is different from a standard chicken....then chick size somewhere between? Thanks again!

Some people mark with markers.

Leg bands can be simple zip ties. Just be sure that they don't get too tight as those wee chicks grow soooo quickly!

I bought somr from ebay that look like rubber bands- they work fine for my little bantams, but for standards they could be a problem.I have put a marker dot on a head
