Ways to use empty feed sacks

As for covering chickens, i use the emptys on top of the tractor run to keep the snow to a minimum, still haven't got my lywood yet for the shep floor. I just lay them on top and put a 2x4 to keep th ewind from blowing away. They are paper sacks though so not much good for sewing. I also use for trash in the barn.

I get mostly the paper sacks of chicken scratch from the Feed store. I use the empty sacks for trash bags, cut open and used in the garden over a compost mound, slit to plant seeds in. I keep a couple of the plastic coated sacks in the pickup as a ground cloth. I also use the paper sacks as a liner in the chick brooder. I have also used the plastic weave sacks filled with sand from the creek for weight in the vehicle (winter time) rather then buy sand tubes. I keep a stack of them as I get them and the stack never gets very large before I find yet another use for them.

yep, more bags from bags. I also keep one feed sack in the garage to hold trash when I clean out my car.
