Wayward chicks

Found them roosting in a tree. Snuck up... Reached from above to grab... And they both slipped through my fingers. It was like greased pigs.

Hopefully I'll find them tomorrow night, again.

BTDT.....haha! You gotta hold those wings against their body and hold on tight!
Hopefully they don't roost higher(too high to reach) next night, that's what happened to me.
Good Luck!

In case you're left wondering, the chicks remain nomadic. Except when they're hanging out with the cows.

And now I have something else to distract me....

Some will be kept to be breeders, others will be feeders. It's the economics of farm life. Treat them well and process them humanely.

Welcome! Invest in a fish net to catch those chickens! I'd consider keeping them in their coop and run for at least weeks, to get them feeling like it's actually home. Otherwise, you'll never find their eggs... Mary
