So, we adopted 3 silkie chicks on May 13th.

(The day we brought them home

We have 2 of our Cornish cross left from the 6 we started with. One male and one female who hang out together following each other around. They are both doing pretty well, active and foraging.
We introduced the chicks to their big brother and sister last week, only supervised of course. Norman (Cornish too) and Master Blaster (Cornish hen) we’re on alert honking and running away from the silkie chicks. It was rather funny to see the little chicks running around the run like they own it and the other two fleeing.
Is there anything we need to do differently as far as when the silkies can begin sleeping in the coop? They have a lot of feathers now.

we do have a collapsible wall that can separate the coop into two sides. This was done previously for our Cornish. I assume we will need to separate the Cornish and the silkies for a time at least.

We are introducing the silkies into the big run for an hour or two every day, so they can all get acquainted with eachother.

Does anyone else have experience with having Cornish and silkies?

Thales main thing I think you will have trouble with is food. I leave food out for my hens but if you do that with cornish crosses they will just sit and eat.
Yes. We actually had their food split up. But now we had to move Norman, our 1 1/2 year old Cornish roo, out of the run and into the fenced backyard. He was starting to chase our silkie roo around and attacking his butt. He’s doing well now having free roam of the whole yard.

We initially didn’t know the genders of the 3 silkies until they started to mature. Now we’ve clearly got 1 roo and 2 hens. We’re lucky I guess that we don’t have 3 Roos. Lol.
We do have the coop split down the middle with a wall so Norman and the silkies don’t interact. Our silkies are now 4 1/2 months old. They’re still so little. At what age are they fully grown?
