we are building a coop

We are building a chicken pin tomorrow ,Can anyone tell me the best size to make the nest I have seen them from 10x10 to 14x14 which is the best size for nest

We made ours 14X14, 6 of them. They all use 1, lol. We would have had alot more room in the coop if they had told us ahead of time that they like to share.

It mostly depends on what kind of chickens you will have. A bantam can use a 10 x 10, but a heavy breed needs a bit more room to get their fat @$$e$ in and out without breaking eggs. I am building a new coop myself and since I will be putting BOs in there, 14 x 14.
