We are getting a Rottweiler pup Tommorrow!! Pics!

AW brutus is Gorgeous! We named him Cane Kudjo. I do like the name Onyx for a black dog. You do not often see dogs named that mainly cats so thats cool. I always wanted a female rott only because Female dogs are my favorite for some reason. It's weird that all the info I have read about Rotts on the internet say they are very intelligent dogs but some people on here say the rotts they have had or have are not so smart. I wonder why that is. Cane has already shown that he is boss to my two big dogs even tho he is a tiny little fellow. He is very, shall we say, Spunky? However he has nothing but love, sweetness and kisses for his moma. I can just imagine how he is going to be when he gets older, I think I now have 3 dominant dogs. I do know that he has a ferocious apetite. He will clear any food around. He is always wattling around with a fat belly after he eats. It's going to be terribly hard not to spoil this little guy for all of us he's just too darn cute and sweet we are still fighting over who gets to hold him and my fiance wants to take him everywhere we go. Which is a good thing, i like to start doing that with the dogs when they are young so they get used to all kinds of situations and people and riding in the car.

Well, I'm not sure that they're less intelligent than other dogs, but definitely can be more stubborn! My dog Onyx was extremely well socialized and the best dog I ever had.

Enjoy Cane Kudjo while he is little, he'll grow up so fast. Take lots of pics, puppy pics are the best!!

Cane is doing great. He seems to be a pretty smart cookie so far. He is doing great with potty training.

Here is some pics of him when we first brought him home. Needless to say his new daddy is taken with him.

Your Puppy's Adorable! We've almost always had a Rotty at our home over the years. We've had them named Zeus, Bear, Rachael & my latest.....my dear sweet Guido Spumoni.

We live in the country so he was a Wonderful Guard Dog. I trained him many guarding commands........ All I had to do was say 'Listen' & he'd hold his breath even in a pant with his tongue out to -Listen-.

He made me feel Soooooooooo safe. He just turned 8yrs on April 10th & passed May 1st here at home.

He was over 100lbs, ....when he started loosing weight & he to us was quite thin.....(you could feel his back bone structure) & he was weighed 85lbs.

Not that it has anything to do with the purebred breed itself, but out of our 4 Rottys 2 died of cancer. & they were unrelated in bloodlines. I sadly was forced to learn more about canine cancer than I'd ever wanted to know.

One of the Most important things is to feed quality food. Check any dog food bag....the main ingredient is "yellow corn" or "ground yellow corn"........that's like junkfood to a dog. It Takes their immune system out of wack & leaves them easier for things to attack their Immune System & their body. We feed good quality dog food now from Sams Club that has Chicken as the main ingredient & Chicken-by-product as the second ingredient....it's the best food I've seen in dry dog food. & I've flipped over TONS of dog food bags.

Enjoy your little buddy, We've LOVED all of ours. We have Love for Large dogs too, Hubby has seen the breed mix of Mastiff & Rottweler......they call them Mastweilers & that's what breed we're leaning to for the future. Especially since no dog could ever replace my Guido.

What an adorable pup. Arnt they the best! This soooo makes me miss my rott Shaika (Shy-cah) though. She was the BEST dog. I just love them.

We had ours for 7 yrs and I let her out one day to go to the restroom and well she must have gotten into some Anitfreeze that a residence near us had left out. We lived in the middle of this huge field so didnt have any close neighbors.

By the time we realized it, it was to late.

I still get teary eyed thinking about her. I miss her terribly, and that was over 10 years ago.

Aw great stories about the rotties. One of the reason I always liked rotts was because I read that Italian mastiffs (Cane Corsos) made up half of their founding breed when the Roman Army came to the German City of Rotweil during a war. The other half is suppose to be the town's german Herding, guarding and all purpose dog. Any dog with Italy's guarding and protection coupled with germany's guarding, herding and protecting is got to be good. Cane is very smart and attentive. When he is playing with you and gets too rough all you have to do is say "no" one time and he ceases the behavior and instantly turns loving and licking. He is going to be a good dog I can tell.
