Now that we are all getting closer to spring I'm interested in finding out what everyone hopes to accomplish this upcoming breeding season with their birds maybe their are others who are too!!!

My plans:

I'm not really sure yet, maybe get a couple trio cages for different coturnix colors and have fun with that, or focus more on my Texas A&Ms, but one thing I'm certain of is I want to to try bobwhites after eating coturnix quail I felt like all that time taken into them wasn't really worth it, maybe we didn't cook them right which is probable but I heard bobwhites taste great so I really want to try them.

I myself would like to try raising bobwhites also, i tried last year but was unsuccessfull. I think i used the wrong feed. Maybe some more pheasants, too.

I was looking in Meyer's catalog, just love it, and showing quail to my 9 year old. I told him a story of my childhood that made him look at me with GREAT big brown eyes. I use to clean quail with my dad, big brother and b-i-l and never thought a thing of it. I loved eating them too, and I do not care for game of any kind. i would love to try it some day, but as long as I have BIG BROWN EYES I can put that on the back burner.

I do have planned:
a big big garden

lots more flowers around

get new lateral done

more fencing

finish barn

build a chicken house/hope to order chicks by June.

That should be enough to keep us busy till the first snow fall!!!

Quail wise, I too am going to try some jumbo bobs. I didn't care for the A&M's I raised last year and since I have all the equipment I may as well give Bobs a shot!

I am just raising my first quail this year, so I will hopefully find what I like and get settled into it. I will be showing my chickens this year for the first time and am trying to figure out what to do with all the extras from hatching out a bazillion birds to find "the right one".

I am going to try to raise a few I have been building cages the last coupla weeks . just started on my colony cage today , One of them anyway.I have built a few pair / trio cages I just found bought 2 pair of Bobs last weekend. I have 30 mixed coturnix in the bator. TAM , Brown etc kina a suprise hatch LOL. just playing it by ear a lil bit I think I found some local coturnix chicks I am going to go see tomorrow

If my turkeys ever start laying I'm planning to hatch some turkey babies and enlarge my flock. Also going to hatch out some chickies and geese. We're going to finish the new goose/chicken house and it appears that my garden will be slightly smaller than usual. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to try to finish training my little mare or pawn her off on some other trainer while I heal up from surgery so I can go riding as soon as I'm feeling well again.

Well im going to order 3 or 4 black austrolorps not to sure yet.And im gonna get a new incubator and hatch out 50 coturnix or pharoah quail eggs for my first time!still havent decided which kind though lol

Rebuilding the wooden shed into a BARN. Maybe getting a milk cow, still weighing the pros/cons on that one. Building a good quail hutch. TURKEYS! I love turkeys and saw some royal palm eggs on here that I might need to get. Uhhhmm a Vegas getaway in Sept for a weekend. Anniversary you know. Lambs? Maybe. I have a lot of fencing to repair on this property. Gotta go to Oregon and pick up Zoomumzy's EE roo she gave me, my mom is holding him. Taking her some banties, she wants them. need more rabbit pens.. I have a lot to do! I'd start now but I hate the snow lol
