Greetings from Our Own Meadow!
We are in Northern Neck Virginia, the BEAUTIFUL East Coast!
My daughter and I have lived here for a decade now and are excited to now have
our VERY FIRST little flock of chickens!
This all began with my daughter who works with dogs. Her boss brought in baby chicks and showed her how to take care of them. She immediately fell in love! Because she is a natural with most animals, caring for baby chicks at work was no big deal. So we talked one night and she brought home 6 to begin with and we now have 16.
We have 10 Red Sex Links,1 Black Polish, 1 Buff Orpington, 2 Wyandottes, 1 Blue Cochin and One Roo...A Laced Cochin. That's for now anyways!
We also have a Rabbit, 2 Guinea Pigs, a Yellow Lab and a Beagle.
I have landed at BYC by following my daughter in search of reliable information to help us sort the vast information on the internet. I am loving the stories and the pictures of coops, the thriving and failures others have experienced, and having a place to show our stuff and know we will get an honest response.
Thank You BYC members for letting us follow you , we'll just be hanging out here in
"Our Own Meadow" watchin' our chicks grow up together.
