Well we have 4 more pips...1 hatched black chick...and

and we lost one...zipped all the way around the shell and then just quit

Finished taking it out of the shell and it was SOOO purdy and had the neatest markings...the girls gave it a nice burial...
So on with the hatching

**ItsAZOO32** the light is the heat source in my incubator. I made it from a styrofoam box, piece of glass a lighting fixture and a bulb...pretty simple

and it is working so far...

**LAST UPDATE* Well for this hatch any way.

Here is our total for this hatch:

13 eggs set on day 18
We had 9 pips from day 22-24
We had 7 good hatches
1 Pipped and wore out
1 pipped hatched, but was not healthy (passed away today

)

4 eggs did not hatch:
2 underdeveloped
1 WAY to BIG
1 Looked fine

So we are just over 50% for survival rate for our hatch!

For a first hatch in a home made incubator I dont think thats too bad.
