We are moving and cannot have chickens anymore

May I wish you every success in your future endeavours, yes time does move ahead very quickly (where the heck does it fly too!) but do stay with us all on BYC and keep us posted as to how things are going. Good luck for the future and hope all goes wel for you and yours

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I have no intentions of
leaving BYC as I will need to live vicariously though all of you.

We will have a little shed in our back yard that we will keep our
bunnies, quail, and maybe a few silkies.

Silkiechicken summed it up perfectly whe she said
It will be better in the long run, just think, you could make a 20x40 barn and fill it with birds!!!

PP, you will be getting all the birds we hatch. Zoning says
nothing about incubators.

There is no way I'm parting
with my Brinsea. I'll use it to make garlic bread or something.

just buy a few chicken diapers and have a house chicken :] and if your mom says "Get rid of the chicken!" just say, thats no chicken! its just a disfigured 2 legged dog [do this if its only a silkie] and when it lays an egg tell her its a multi-tasking dog.

terribly sorry you have to lose your chickens that really stinks man :[

God will bless you 10 fold!!Why? Because he gave you some difficult decisions. And you took the hard road. (For a while) Let HIM make the rest easier for you. We've made some sacrifices too. We are waiting patiently for HIM to open the right doors for us too.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS

Didnt see this thread before I PMed you. Good long term decision. It will pay off for you. beside, hiding illegal animals out in the shed seems pretty exciting!!!

Sorry to hear that, but it's a good tradeoff; your wife's RN degree will mean a lot in the future for your whole family. Glad you're keeping a couple of silkies; they sort of attach themselves under your skin, don't they. Good luck!

I'm sorry, PC. But, on the other hand, it's just a step to more happiness in the future. Wish my own DH would consider moving to a house with no steps because of his back issues. He's in crisis mode (PAIN) now and just wont think about it. Sounds daunting to me, too, but I think it'd be worth it in the end. So, I wish you success with your future plans. Tell me when you're ready for more Orpingtons or Barred Rocks and the eggs will be on the way.
