Yea! We have success! Finally, day 21 and we are pipping! The kids are going to be so excited when they wake up.

My question is though, because I am a nervous first time mom, to chicks that is, when or do I help? My humidity was a bit low I thought this morning, 52%. I have since got it back up to around 60%. I hope this little guy/gal that is working so hard is not harmed by that. There was a crack in the egg around 11pm last night and now this morning, 6:30 am the hole is about the size of a nickle. Any advise?

Did I say I was excited!!!!!

Patience!! 24 hours or longer sometimes from a pip to zipping out. It takes work to get out of an egg for a reason, they rest, pick some shell, learning to breathe better and finish absorbing the yolk sac.
