Ok so I had not been checking for eggs daily cause I thought our 4 hens were moulting. It had been 3 days and this afternoon went out to find a hen sitting on 20 YES 20 eggs! These were our first eggs, our hens are 5/6 months old and I so was not expecting them to lay right now. I guess the couple warm sunny days we had did something to them. Anyway, I couldn't wait to call hubby and show the kids. We are so happy.

Let's see -- 4 hens x 3 days would normally yield around 12 eggs -- better make sure you float test them for freshness.

Yes, we were a little puzzled with the number ourselves! They were all together in same nest, so are from same time frame of 1-3 days. Didn't see this coming.

Those first eggs are so wonderful. I'm surprised you didn't hear the egg song or should I say the we're laying eggs scream!!
