Those birds look great! Congrats on your processing and teaching the next generation about butchering skills.

I had a lady at the fair last year yell at me and start crying after she asked what we do with the birds (chickens and turkeys) and rabbits once the fair is over. She told me that we should just buy our meat in the grocery store and not hurt any animals. I asked her exactly where she thought the grocery store got their meat from and she said they make meat in factories. Some people just don't have a clue....

And they churn them out packaged in plastic! Next thing you'll know they will be eating plastic or non food items while we eat like kings with our birds!

I'm sorry...but that is hilarious! Shoulda told her that is exactly where you bought YOUR birds and rabbits, at the meat factory! After the show they would all hold hands and skip merrily back to the meat factory and make artificial meat for the masses.

When we did our first batch of meaties, my youngest son 5 at the time grabbed his lawn chair sat down to watch and said "huh so this is how they make chicken!" What a hoot. Congrats and good job.

Awwww!

I let my 3 y/o watch and wander as she will. It's nice knowing she will know how meat is "made", and not have qualms about it. Gives ya some home about the future generations!

And those ducks look NUMMY!!! Now I want to find some ducks to process....
