I gave up on getting my silkies to use the nest boxes even tried small liter boxes on the ground. I placed a few eggs into them. Get this they would sleep in the liter boxes but lay the eggs in the corner of the coop.

. And to top it off I have a black frizzle cochin that goes into her huddle house and lays her egg on a 2x4 and let's it fall about 18" to the ground, needless to say I have to create a bed of straw under her spot. Silly chickens I have!!!!

No, the picture is not from mine, but I think I have seen it on here before which gave me the idea to give the girls curtains. My duck has even started laying in the nestboxes as the bottom row sits on the floor of the coop.

ok, not pretty but here is a picture of my nestbox/storage area with feedbag curtains. I put the white side out and the blue side in to make it darker in the nestboxes.
