We finally did it. I hated too but it had to be done.

We butchered the last 6 BA roosters yesterday. I wish they would have sold but we could not keep them. So we kept putting it off until yesterday when I walked outside and decided I was not spending anymore money on feeding them.

DH said can we just start buying chicken at the store.

He cut his fingers 3 times, when we were done he said all the blood on my apron is mine. He hates butchering chickens. He is willing to butcher anything else but he hates doing chickens. I simply said I appriciate your help but I did not expect it. He was very sweet to drop what he was doing to help.

Then to top it all off we got unexpected company in the middle of butchering. SD and her Mom stopped in to visit. SD can't stomach butchering and got completely grossed out. She said you are ruining me on eating chicken ever again.

DH's XW didn't care she is used to it. So she stood there talking with us like we always do.

Glad you completed the necessary task!

And it always is great to have help! My gal and I dispatched 6 Cornish X that had grown to giant size in just 9 weeks. Went pretty well since there were two of us doing it.

Well, next time SD may call before dropping by.

Well done on the part of your husband. The Princess would NEVER help me butcher.
