We finally did it. New chicks arrived yesterday!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Antibiotics are actually hard on chickens and should ONLY be used in emergencies. Apple cider vinegar is what I would recommend using. It boost immune, digestive and respiratory systems. It is very good for them! Put a teaspoon in a quart waterer.

Very cute chicks!

Hi!!! Welcome to the chicken world, although I barely started my account I know a lot about chickens because of my relatives. I barely got my own chicks but I know how to take good care of them... Just keep an ate on them until they're ready to go to their coop outside.
Have fun and enjoy them!!!

Thanks for the good advise and warm welcome everyone. Our little ladies are doing well and seem to be warming up to us. My wife is loving this more than i am I think. She is also saying i told you so about the brooder size so that is being upgraded this weekend. We got a red spectrum basking bulb for the light and they seem to be liking that more. No more pecking and are relaxing more. They are now reacting to the sun cycle and are actually roosting on the feeder once its dark outside. How high should i put the perch for them in the new brooder? I am stopping the meds in the water like was suggested and am going to get some of the medicated feed for them this week. Once i begin the pine shavings, what is the best way to clean the brooder? like a litter box or dump it all and put in new? How often? We are glad to be part this community here and look forward to the adventure.
