One of our point of lay pullets finally gave us a present!! I just wish I knew which one! :weeI doubt it needs pointing out, but it's the smallest one.

Unless your Marans is hatchery, I would say she is the one not laying yet. You have four females, right?

Actually, we aren't even sure she's a Maran, but the farmer told us she'd lay dark chocolate colored eggs. She has feathers on her outer leg and outer toes. Photo from about a month ago:

We have at least four females, but possibly five.
 
She looks like she's possibly a Welsummer x Marans cross, but I'm not certain. The dark brown layers include Marans, Welsummers, and Barnevelders, but only Marans have feathered legs. She definitely isn't full Marans of any variety I'm aware of, though, unless she just comes from strange stock.

I guess I can call her a Maran Cross.
 
Congratulations! It's always so exciting to get an egg from a pullet, even if you already have laying hens and eggs are nothing new. Happy for you!
