We found a hidden "clutch" in a bush......are they safe to eat?

Loccopollo- By that standard, every chicken would start out as a "bad egg".

Nope, they don't go bad or they wouldn't hatch! I've had hens lay 15 eggs in a clutch & all hach so they can be at least 15 days old & still good! Jody

Sure enuff- today we've been keeping an eye on the girls, and they're all sneaking under the bush one by one LOL.
If I was computer-savvy, I'd attach a picture of their hiding spot and the eggs we found.

Have you tried the golf ball / dummy egg in the nest boxes. Also advice that I've read includes keeping the girls locked in the coop until 11 or noon. Most chickens lay in the morning....you know "morning constitutional"

My hen first started laying in one of the horses stalls. I moved her egg into the nest box and showed it to her. She laid the rest in the nest box. ?? Is that unusual?
