At exactly 20 weeks old, one of our sweeties layed the first egg ever! It is small and light brown and so cute! The egg is perfect, it isnt dirty and the shell isnt broken or anything

Can a BR first egg be that small? We only have 2 banties and the rest are standard so Im still wondering, who laid that egg?

They come in all sizes. Some days I have big ones, some days they are smaller. My girls are just turning 25 weeks. Got my first egg on 9/11. Now I'm getting at least 5 a day from 8 birds.

that is relly cool my chicken just started laying also!

it is a real happy and exciting time when you first find that out!! you are now the grandparent to an omlet! (you eat the egg right?)

COngrats. I like the "perspective" picture. My own pictures of my first egg made it look much larger than it actually was. It's nice to really see how tiny those first eggs are.
