We got our first Angel Food box!

We get Angel Food off and on sometimes. The first time I got it I was a little worried when I saw the proportions. It said enough food to feed a family of 4 for a week. What I think would be a little more accurate is to say it will feed a family of 4 at least 1 meal a day for a week if everyone eats 1 suggested serving size. But a lot of times things can be made to stretch and there have been times I've actually had leftovers, much to my surprise.
Because it takes more food than this to feed us, I'm not sure it always saves us money, except on meat. But still, I think it's a great organization and am happy to support it when I can.

We're going to take advantage and try to help my friend and daughter while we're at it. He boyfriend left them and she can barely pay the mortgage right now.

I've donated what I've could to her... but we're just running on empty until my husband gets work. Its the first christmas we aren't going to be able to donate to the SPCA or do the can drive

Angel food is great isnt it! I love the fact that it does not depend on your income. We pick up and order for several individuals. It helps out a couple of senior citizens in our area.

I just wanted you to know we pick up our first box on saturday. I've gotten several friends and neighbors involved. Thank you so much for sharing. It just made a much easier holiday for quite a large group of us having a hard time!

Can anyone tell me how much work it takes the day of, or even before delivery of the Angel Food???

I am not sure how it works on the churches' end. They were switching off people when I went it. I just simplely went in and paid for the orders, and I drive up for the boxes at the same office on saturday.
