We Got Our First (chicken) Eggs!!

Chick number 2 just hatched and it looks strong, but I'm a little concerned. The chick has a red bulging area on it's butt. Is this something I should be worried about?

So things with that second chick got worse. The other chick pecked at the red bit and pulled on it and tugged the entire yolk sack out of the second one... I tried to gently push it back in, but no luck. I ended up using vetwrap to make a sort of diaper to keep the sack from dragging, but I don't think I can do anything else at this point. Amazingly enough, the chick is still bright, alert and walking, eating and drinking just fine. Has anyone else had this happen before? I'm wondering if the yolk sack will just dry up and fall off like an umbilical cord? Or am I just prolonging the inevitable at this point and I should put the chick out of it's misery?

Oh no.
Can you get a picture?
Separate him too.

I did end up separating the second chick. Unfortunately, it didn't make it. The issue with the yolk sac resolved, but I couldn't get the chick to eat. I tried chick mash and force feeding, but the chick just continued to decline until it finally died. So we ended up with only one chick out of 24 eggs. We named the survivor Jett Black. Jett for short.

Does anyone in the Connecticut area have any 4 week old chicks available? Preferably jersey giants, but I'll take any average sized breed too. I just want them to he around the same age cause I worry that Jett might hurt day olds.
