We got our first egg!

Congrats on getting that first egg! It can seem like a long wait but it's worth it

The first egg is always exciting especially when you have her from a chick and you see her go from a little baby to a big girl :') I thank my girls every time they lay me an egg!

@Madisan I always thank mine too. Every day when I walk out of the coop with the egg basket, I tell the girls thank you for the beautiful eggs and good job!

Anyone listening in on our conversations (between the girls and me) would think we were nuts

Lol this morning my boyfriend comes outside and says "why are you just standing in the coop" I said "because.....I like to watch my chickens" lol he doesn't understand !!!

The man needs to learn to appreciate what a fine show "Chicken TV" is!

Give him time, he'll get it.

DH and our lame RIR are inseparable buddies. Whenever she hears him coming, she perks up and if her mini-run door is open she'll hobble out to him wanting to be picked up. He takes her for walks (he walks, she rides, lol) and they just love to chatter to each other. One of the sweetest things to see

(But don't tell DH that, he likes to think he's a tough guy.)

Welllllllllll he does have a favorite.. And that's my 5 week old barred rock cockerel. But anytime I call him out on it he says "a chicken is just a chicken" I think he just gets embarrassed hahaha
