We had a monumental day here at Cluckawalla Valley.

That's great! I hope I'm as lucky when I integrate my babies with my adults.

CONGRATS!!! I remember reading a thread where you mentioned having to push the chickens up the ramp each night. It's nice to read that they finally figured it out themselves. Your stories give me a good chuckle.

YES! That was the Light Sussex. First they learned the ramp and then they roosted for one night. Sadly I went down to check them last night and no one was roosting. They were back in a big pile on the floor. I am not taking it personally though. Someone else had admitted to me that their Sussex are a bit dimwitted as well. We will continue with the training.

The good news is the silkies used the ramp to get up all by themselves again.

I'm not sure if it's worse that they can't get it right by themsevles or that we continue to try and teach them. LOL! My friends and family joke that the animals have me well trained. That is why your post tickles me so much. It's as if your chickies expect the "human elevator" each night, LOL "No, you can't go up that ramp, Mom will be here to help us any minute & if we don't look stuck she'll stop coming out to tuck us in!"
