sorry, no I didn't catch the hatch. The funny thing was that I didn't candle them till later toward the end of incubation and I thought it was just a bigger chick in there because it was so much darker than in all the other eggs?? When they hatched though, there was only one pip just like normal so no flags there, again just thought probably a big one.....then I came back and there were the two orpingtons (who look identical btw) one peeping and moving around and another one that still looked real wet, I guess and laying down still looking real tired and curled up I guess you could say (don't really know how to explain it)
Trust me I had a hard time believing it myself, but since the other eggs with them in that batch were a wellsummer, two salmon faverolles, and a blue laced red...the only other eggs in there were the two orpington eggs and I have three chicks. No way to explain it otherwise.
They're in the brooder now so I can get the incubator cleaned for the next lock down coming up (we stagger our hatches sometimes) but the two stay very close together. It's really cute.
