We have a black swedish duck and a blue swedish duck and we were wondering what gender they were

How old are they? Right now they both appear female but age can change that. Also listen to the sounds they make. If they are loud quacks, then it's a female. If they sound raspy, or hoarse, they are male.

I think they are 6 weeks old give or take They make lots of noise but I dont know what kind it is it sounds like quacking this is our first time with ducks so we dont really know anything about them are we correct on the breed? we looked them up and they looked like swedish ducks when they were babies

Yes, they are swedish. It is to young to tell by the feathers. Males will develop a drake feather that curls upwards at the base of their tail around 12 weeks. Search youtube for male and female ducks noise and you can hear the difference that way. Sometimes you can't voice sex them till they are 8 weeks though.

ok thank you for the info we have also gotten 3 pekin but they are only 3 weeks old and they came from tractor supply and that is what they told us they were no matter the sex of any of them they are all keepers to me i did not realize just how much fun they are

When you catch them do they make a loud clear quack or do they sound like they lost their voice(raspy, hoarse). If it complains loudly its female.

I hope that you end up with 4 females and 1 male with you swedes and pekins, otherwise you will have to buy a few more hens or those drakes will rough up the girls badly. I know my drakes need at least 3 hens each or they get torn up bad, male ducks are anything but nice to the girls.

May be a good ploy to get hubby to let you have MORE ducks lol

I have already brought in 6 more baby chicks that we just added to the crate the others were in and he did not notice for a couple of days Me kids and I went to tsc to get feed and we stopped to look at the chicks and I saw they had Silkies in there so I just had to get them and then they were 2 little tiny light grey ones I have no idea what they are and then we just had the kid pick the last one but we love them all I have never had Silkies before and have always wanted them but you have to buy them 6 at a time so i figured i have the room why not
I hope we dont have to many roo's because I will only be keeping 1 of them my dad gets the rest
