We Have a Late Bloomer

Our chickens are 5 1/2 weeks old now and we have just one that hasn't feathered in like everyone else. I am not sure of the breed or gender. I still see mostly baby fluffing. (btw) we call it Little Pimp Sqweep ! lol Its to cute running around with a fuzzy butt around all the rest. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I agree. I think it may be a cockerel too since it is so slow in feathering out.

I am looking at the feet to body size ratio and I think it's a male as well

I checked his comb and its a single. So possible Cochin cockerel. Thank you guys. He is the only one that hasn't feathered in yet. I like watching him interact with the rest of the flock with his fuzzy fluffy rear sticking out. lol

Agreed. I think my cochin "pullet" may be a boy too.

S/he just turned 5 weeks old today. VERY SLOW feathering, even our EE who is a week younger has more feathers. Here it is.
