We have a mess of keets!

Thanks all, well dh said if I wanted the keets put up in the brooder pen with their mama we would have to catch them today before they became like greased lightening! I was afraid they wouldn't survive the other poultry(other adult guineas were pecking at them through the fencing)and predators. There are fifteen of them and mama can't protect them all. someone should have had a video for this chase!!

After ruining the poultry netting, falling on my hands and knees many times, we finally managed to catch mama(minus her tail feathers) and all the babies. They are now safely in the brooder cage until they are a few weeks old and are faster. They are where the other poultry can see and hear them. It looked like a visiting room at the hospital nursery. all the other poultry took turns going into the brooder room to see the babies. Here is the brooder pen. Not a pic from today but from earlier this summer.

I can't believe how adorable they start out... and then they get so ugly. LOL
Congrats on the new hatchlings, can't wait to see their make-shift brooder/hospital room.
