Ok all you green thumbs, what are you growing? Any particularly duck/chicken friendly plants you could recommend?

Yay! I'm growing potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, radishes, lettuce, and I just got some bush beans to plant. This is my first year gardening, so I'm nervous. I love canning, and I'm hoping I get enough tomatoes this year to make salsa. I made it last year... I made just eight jars, which I ate within the first month! :(

I haven't planted a chicken garden yet, but that's a goal down the road, too!

What are you planting?

Where did you get your tomatoes last year for canning? Do you have a salsa recipe for canning that you would like to share?

I said the same thing when I found this forum lol.

Lets see so far I have :
Potato
sweet onion
green onion
Beef steak tomato
cherry tomato
cucumber
grn pepper
field corn
jalopinos
beans
peas
basil
spinach
rosemary
chives
broccoli
brussel sprouts
zuccini
spagetti squash

I have a bunch more seeds but I need to transplant my seedlings first so I can re-use my tray.

My only chicken crops are two planter boxes of "Catgrass" (wheat and rye), which I'll drag in to their run when they get long and green. In my SFG, I have radishes, carrots, peas, and a couple of other things I can't recall now.

I'm doing this all organically so it's been a fun challenge. Need a vacuum sealer for storage too! Would also like to learn how to collect seed.

My real passion are houseplants/tropicals. That list goes on and on. If anyone else on here likes trading plants pm me.

In the indoor greenhouse
