From the little description a former employer gave he seems to have more serial killer traits.
He described him as a nice guy and friendly, and he didn't have any issues with any customers based on their race.
His actions don't seem to fit though, just randomly stabbing and taking off.

This whole situation seems off to me. As for going back to Israel, he may have simply been hoping to avoid arrest after a sketch was put up and there was a national manhunt for him.

Crimes of opportunity don't fit well into the serial killer profile. Serial killers tend to have a trigger, something that sets them off on to wanting to kill the person. While it may seem random enough, serial killers are typically choosy about who they kill. Then again, maybe his trigger was someone willing to help a guy in need.
Serial stabber he may be, but I'm beginning to doubt the serial killer aspect. Racial motivation is always open when your victim count has a great majority of minority's. He could have been stabbing black people and those in association with black people. But in Flint, black people are not exactly the minority, so it's back to random stabbing.

Either way the guy's been caught, and that is what matters.
 
turns out he's an employee of one of Farah's markets.

^DH and I were discussing that very thing! Eerie.

I thought it seemed odd that he chose that town in VA to stop... turns out he lived there before... think we'll learn more as more info is gathered on his background. Just glad the bugger was caught.
