I hope it's okay to jump into this thread.
We have 8 hens and started to get eggs a month ago. It now appears that all of the hens are laying as we have been getting six eggs a day and one day last week we got eight. For the last several weeks every couple of days we have been finding remnants of an egg in one of the nest boxes, only a little shell and some goo left. we also find several eggs that have a hole in the end.
Does that appear to be a peck mark or the result of a hard landing? We are trying to figure out what is going on.
