We have an egg!!

My 17-ish week Phoenix bantam laid the most beautiful, tiny egg!! First one! It's so eggciting, yay!

That's a good size for a bantam!

That's what I was thinking. There was a little blood on it, poor girl. She didn't even tell me, I checked the nesting boxes when I got home and surprise!

My husband looked at it and said "what are we supposed to do with that?"

Congratulations on getting that first egg!

People do all sorts of things with their 1st eggs. Some take 100's of photos and share with everyone they meet. Some blow the eggs out and save the shell (some make Christmas ornaments from the shells). And then some, like, us cook it up and eat it!

We're getting an egg every other day from our Phoenix. Getting a little larger each day and a little shade darker. The one on the right is the first, the left I got today. Can't wait for breakfast in the morning!!
