yes so far so good. I am a little scared though #7 was not peeping so loudly this evening. I said though that I wanted nature to take it's course. If she isn't out by morning I may decide to help.....not sure at this point.

Did it pip through the shell at all? Mine pipped through just a little hole, but did nothing else all day. That night it was still the same. Come morning it hatched out. My fear was that if it didn't have that little hole, it would suffocate. So I would just see if it has pipped through at all and if so, make sure there is a tiny hole for it to get air. Then wait for morning. Come morning for me this is what we had!

And this one was already hatched when we went back out to check on the first Silkie!

They are so tiny that I don't even know how they were able to get out of their shells! But they do it!

This is a regular size chick born Sunday night, with my day old Silkie

My big chick is a from a neighbor's egg. I am not sure exactly what it is. It has some partridge coloring on it's back and the black eye liner going on, but the basic body is yellow/white.

My Silkies: One is light partridge. The other is white, but has some under coat coloring that could feather out into another color. Most likely it will just be white with perhaps some silver. I have a roo like that. Or it could turn out just white. It's hard to tell until they feather out. I have two white hens, one white roo with the silver color in it and one partridge roo. I didn't separate them or pair them up. SO I don't know what is what on these.
