You won't see the aggression until they mature into breeding age. post alot of pics we have a member on here who is pretty good at picking out gander and goose but wait till they are at least 4 weeks old.Do you have any white goslings left? I have three, three- or four-week-old goslings (don't know if they are male, female or a mix). I'm looking for partners for one or two of them. Not really sure how to tell if they are male or female at this point, but I believe the are all male. I did watch the video on the longer, thinner neck and higher-riding undercarriage for males. None of them are aggressive at this point.
Are you planning on moving them outside eventually? a secure house and pen is a much to keep out predators. hardware cloth is a poultry owners best friend. Very sorry for your losses.Thank you very much for replying. Having lost the first two goslings (that I hatched out myself) to raccoons, I bring these in the house at night. They live in a small portable dog kennel. It's not going to last long they're growing so fast. I bought them a small kiddie pool yesterday on my way home from work. They were like little seals swimming under water, popping up, and going back under again.

Mine are locked up inside a house at night and free range a half acre fenced property during the day. My houses are very close to our house which also deters preds and the dogs barking also helps. Maybe your chicken coop would work if secure enough.Yes. There is a swampy area in the pasture just down from the house and outbuildings that has a pond during the spring and whenever we have heavy rains. It is fenced with woven wire for the sheep and mini donkeys. That is an option when they get to be a year old or so. We also have an old chicken coop full of stuff that I was hoping to clean out and partition part off for this winter. I have to come up with something for now though so that I will take the time to have frequent contact with them to get them used to people interaction. The current system of handling them three or four times a day is working well but the dog kennel is getting too small.
What is hardware cloth?..........Laurie
