So we have had our 3 ameracauna pullets who are 8-9 months old for about 2 months now. except for 3 eggs from one of the girls the first week (must have been in her system already) we have not seen an egg. The one who was laying initially started molting right away, so figured that was why she stopped; but she's been good now for about 4 weeks. Then a couple of weeks ago another one started to molt. They have plenty of space in their coop and pen, get laying pellets, some scratch, fresh water daily and sometimes a special treat of meal worms (their favorite). They don't seem to like fruits/veggies, etc, although we offer them. They free range a bit around the yard, but don't go too far from the coop area. We have looked around and they are not laying anywhere else. I have a cat litter box (no top on it) with pine shavings and a couple of golf balls in it which is in one end of the coop. I kind of thought they would use that for a nest box, but they don't. They act normal and don't seem to be stressed particularly. We've kind of given up expecting any eggs and just are considering them our entertaining little pets now. But . . . I wish. . . I wish. . .
Any additional suggestions??
