Lee, that little brown one looks somewhat like Iris and Hazel as babies. I called them the "Chocolate Chicks". Here's one of them as a newly hatched chick herself:

Funny thing is that I know the egg that it came out of was from my S s Hamburg, it was by far the smallest egg in the nest.

Can't wait to see what it will turn out to look like!

Interesting! Looks like Iris by osmosis, then, LOL. How funny! As an adopted child, people sometimes would say how much I looked like my mom, too. NO way did I. Cant wait to see how it develops. How's Iris doing as a mother or did you take them from her?

Iris is a fantastic mother!
She's taught them how to eat.

I wouldn't put her and the chicks in a pen with a mad pit bull right now, I'd fear for the pit bulls life!

Do you think this last egg with the huge air cell has a chance?

Hard to say. When they look like that at the end, usually the chick is dead and dried up and "shrinkwrapped" by the membrane. If there is no beak in the aircell, it's probably a goner.

It is definately alive , the movements are kind of like pulsing, and it changes speed. there is no beak in the air cell as far as I can tell, but this is a brown egg.

Should I leave it be or try to help it out?

Tough call, Lee. It may just have been in a cooler spot under Iris and need more time, or maybe it just isn't strong enough.
