We just finished building a duck house

thank you :-) I'm very happy with it. We have to take the wire top off of the duck pen and remove one fence panel so we can move the house in there for them. I can't wait to sit out there and watch them check it out. I asked my Husband about building a second one and he said forget it, too much work LOL I'll keep my original duck house in the pen in case I ever need to seperate a duck and babies or house a sick duck. I'm going to try and draw a Duck and cut it from wood and stick it on a dowel then attach it to the top of the house to look like a weather vane :-)

Plum,

You've got lucky ducks. If I may be so bold as to ask, what are the dimensions of the area under the roof and how many ducks do you expect it to house? Thanks and regards, Woody

Woody, the dimensions under the roof are 6' wide by 4' deep not including the nesting box. I have 7 grown ducks and 6 ducklings. Out of the 7 grown ducks 4 are Mallards and they don't spend every night up in the house, sometimes they stay down on the pond but my other grown gals always come up to their house for the night. Another reason I'm keeping my original duck house as well is so that on the nights that all of the ducks want to come up to the pen for the night there will be plenty of safe room for them. Our pen is totally enclosed however we have had a snake or two in it so I prefer the ducks be inside the houses..they're both snake/mouse/rat proof.

That is gorgeous but ackkkkkkkkkkkk the price would give my Husband a stroke LOL
I'll just use a cypress board and my power tools and make one ;-)

Arrrgghhhh.... my ducks want to know when they can move into your luxurious accommodation - they have all given it the thumbs up.... !!!

Unfortunately they have to live in their meagre homes until we modify their homes!!!
